BHS 2025-26: Work-Based Learning Fair Connects Students to Real-World Opportunities

March 16, 2026

Batesville High School was filled with energy and opportunity in early March as students participated in the annual Work-Based Learning (WBL) Fair. Sophomores and juniors had the chance to explore their professional interests while connecting directly with more than 30 local industry leaders who generously shared their time, expertise, and career insights.

Events like the WBL Fair highlight the strong partnership between our schools and the Batesville community. Students practiced essential career-readiness skills by introducing themselves to employers, delivering their “elevator pitches,” and distributing their newly created WBL business cards. These interactions help students build confidence, develop professional communication skills, and begin thinking more intentionally about their futures.

The fair also offered students the opportunity to learn about a wide range of high-demand career fields. Industry professionals representing engineering, healthcare, manufacturing, skilled trades, business, human services, transportation, teaching, and technology spoke with students about the skills needed in their fields and the pathways available after high school.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Batesville Community Education Foundation (BCEF) for serving as the event sponsor. Their continued support and investment in our students make opportunities like this possible. Through partnerships like these, Batesville Community School Corporation continues to strengthen the connection between classroom learning and real-world experience.

Perhaps the most powerful part of the day was seeing community partners and educators working together with one shared goal: preparing the next generation of Batesville’s workforce. By helping students explore careers, build professional skills, and form meaningful connections, the WBL Fair is another step in ensuring that the future of Batesville is truly Bulldog Ready.
