Proven Academic Excellence
One Year of College Before High School Graduation
Through our academic partnership with Ivy Tech, Batesville High School students can earn one year of college credit at virtually no cost to them.
Batesville Community School Corporation is the only public school in the state of Indiana that offers a Mandarin Chinese Dual Language Immersion Program. Beginning in kindergarten, students in our optional Chinese immersion program receive 50% of their classroom instruction in Mandarin Chinese.
Onboarding Program for New Students
Our personalized onboarding program at all four schools ensures that students new to the corporation are integrated into the school community with as little stress as possible.
All students (K-12) receive a device to use for their school instruction. Students have full wireless connection on our campuses and our Information Technology department is trained to assist with any issues. We actively integrate technology into the curriculum, employing innovative teaching strategies & technology tools.
Flexible Learning Spaces
From classrooms that can be flipped from a study session collab to test-taking rows in minutes, flexibility is offered in many of our spaces. Some of our buildings include special meeting spaces with multiple screens to be used by staff and students alike in a variety of ways.
Comprehensive Curriculum and Real-Life Experiences
Our diverse curriculum includes traditional academic offerings, as well as foreign language, art and music, agriscience, and engineering. Mentorship and cooperative opportunities are also available.
Commitment to Healthy Kids
BCSC is committed to keeping kids healthy, through our nutritious meals and our dedicated health staff, consisting of 4 RNs, 1 LPN, and 2 clinic aides, who are available to students through the school day for a variety of needs. The health clinics at BCSC see approximately 14,058 student visits a year.
Successful Athletic and Extracurricular Programs
Students can get involved in a variety of ways and – whether it’s football, FFA, or fine arts – our clubs and sports encourage hard work while having fun.
Outstanding Community Partnerships
BCSC is one of only 20% of school systems in the state with a nonprofit public education foundation partner. The Batesville Community Education Foundation has donated more than $200,000 to our school corporation for innovative learning opportunities. In addition, BCSC schools also benefit from arts integration programming provided by the local Batesville Area Arts Council through its Arts-in-Education programs. The BAAC donates $15 per student in the district annually which totals close to 1 million dollars over thirty years.
