This healthcare program equips students with essential skills and knowledge for a career in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant. Students begin by learning medical terminology, including abbreviations, symbols, and word parts to build a strong medical vocabulary for clear communication and record interpretation. They also gain hands-on experience in patient care. For those interested in becoming nursing assistants, the program offers specialized training in basic care, dementia care, and long-term care, leading to eligibility for Indiana’s certification exam.
