Do you like home improvement projects and building things? The Building Trades concentration can lead to a career in those areas.
This pathway begins with foundational skills in construction, covering the use of hand and power tools, basic construction drawings, and safety practices. Students learn about roles in the industry while reinforcing math and communication skills crucial for success. Advanced skills include framing, and interior and exterior finishing techniques, such as roofing, drywall, and trim installation. Building on these basics, students study floor, wall, and roof framing, as well as stair layout and building envelope systems. A capstone course covers the basics of electricity and working with concrete.
