Are you fascinated with hands-on animal farming but also want to know how to manage the business side of it? The animal agribusiness pathway will give you the tools you need.
The animal agribusiness concentration begins with a general exploration of agriculture during freshman year, covering topics such as animal and plant systems, natural resources, and agricultural technologies. The next year, the focus shifts to animal agriculture, where students engage in practical activities and labs to learn about anatomy, nutrition, reproduction, biosecurity, and career opportunities in animal science. The coursework portion of the concentration concludes with an advanced study of genetics, breeding, biotechnology, and sustainable practices in animal science. Students build leadership and career skills through active involvement in FFA and hands-on agricultural projects. A year-long supervised agricultural experience caps off the requirements, showing students how to apply skills in real-world scenarios.
