My name is Claire Porter and I am the School Counselor at Batesville Primary School.
I am so excited and feel very lucky to be part of the Batesville Primary School family!
I was born and raised in Batesville, Indiana and graduated from Batesville High School. My passion for counseling began during my time as a student at Ball State University where I received my Bachelors of Arts degree in Fine Arts and Psychology and then at The Adler School of Professional Psychology where I earned my Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy. I am a Licensed School Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). The majority of my work experience has been in an educational setting, with 8 years in K-12 public schools. What I love most about the elementary level is the genuine curiosity students have in their learning and the world around them, as well as the opportunity for early intervention support that can have a lifetime positive impact on a child.
As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, social/emotional, and career development of all students. I look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families, and community. I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, conducting classroom counseling lessons, meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all Batesville Primary School students.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call 812-934-4509 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org at any time.
I am passionate about my job striving to make a positive difference in the lives of the students and families in Batesville. I am so excited to work with your child and get to know you throughout the school year!
