Dear BMS Parents:
As the school year rapidly approaches, we want to take the opportunity to welcome you as the parents of our students to Batesville Middle School. The middle school years are important in the development of adolescents. It is a time when students are given opportunities to explore various subjects, refine and expand skills developed in previous school years, and begin making career choices.
Adolescence is a time of great changes: physical, emotional, psychological, and social. With the exception of the first year of a child’s life, no other time of development experiences such rapid change. This period of growth demands a great deal of understanding and patience from both the school and the home. We believe that the middle school concept and curriculum was designed to meet the needs of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
All of us in our roles of parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators are educators. We must all work together in a spirit of cooperation to successfully educate the youth in our school. Let us dedicate this school year to doing the best we can for each of our students.
Sincerely,
The Faculty, Staff, and Administration of Batesville Middle School

Breakfast and Lunch
The BMS cafeteria uses an online program to track deposits, extra milk, etc. We encourage parents/guardians to make the first cafeteria deposit online at the time computer/book rental is paid in order to speed up cafeteria service on the first day.
You can also see balances on your online account. If you do not wish to pay online, students can turn money into the cafeteria to put towards their lunch account. Deposits may be made daily, weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, or at other interval at school by students. Deposit slips will be returned to students.
- Checks should be made payable to “Batesville Middle School,” or “BMS.”
- Cash will be accepted for deposits, but may not be used in the cafeteria line.
The middle school opens to students daily at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served in the commons from 7:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. each morning. Students will be released at 7:45 a.m. and classes begin at 7:55 a.m. The Commons will remain open until 4:00 p.m. each weekday evening so that students have access to their lockers for items which may be needed prior to the next school day.
Upcoming Events
