Parents and Guardians,
It is with eagerness and excitement that I introduce myself to you as the new principal of Batesville Middle School and welcome you and your student(ਐੱਸ) to the next exciting chapter in the Batesville Community School System. As you are all already aware, Batesville Schools and Batesville Middle School specifically have an outstanding reputation among Southeast Indiana schools and across the state, providing students with a wide range of interesting, engaging, and rigorous curriculum, quality athletic programs, challenging and creative pathways and career explorations, and multiple opportunities in the arts. Most importantly, they are safe and secure schools where your student can grow and thrive as an academic and as a person.
As a servant-leader, trust and communication are core values. Know that I have always been, and will continue to be, readily accessible to both you and your student(ਐੱਸ) and respectfully honest, even if we don’t agree in the end. Without honesty, there can be no trust. Our staff will work to ensure that every student has a path to success and a niche within our walls where they feel respected, accepted, and appreciated. These are basic components of every successful school in which I’ve worked and are well-defined goals within State expectations. To the best of our ability, we will:
- Ensure a safe and secure learning environment,
- Prioritize academic growth and success
- Provide college and career exploration, ਅਤੇ
- Incorporate employability-related learning opportunities within a positive school culture.
As a part of my first 100 ਦਿਨ, we will be completing culture/climate audits. It is essential, as we continue the great work BMS has been doing, that we understand student, ਸਟਾਫ, and community needs and desires. We’ll also be looking at best practices across content areas to ensure continued successful curriculum implementation.
I have worked in education and athletics for 32 years all around the state and am committed to continuing what Batesville Community Schools have already become widely known for building “Bulldog Ready” students toward successful outcomes. As I stated earlier, I am excited and feel blessed to be joining the Batesville School family and look forward to this year and the years to come.
