Small Group Counseling

Small Group Counseling is available to students who may need assistance with social or emotional skills.  Small group counseling is also created at times for students coping with similar life experiences.

Individual Counseling

Occasionally, students may benefit from one on one sessions with the school counselor.  These are called counseling “Check-In’s”.  It is important to note that these are not therapy sessions and do not take the place of a licensed therapist.  However, individual “Check-In’s” are beneficial for students who need coping skills during the school day and occasional Check-In’s from the counselor to enhance emotional well-being.

Leadership Groups

Girls in Pearls is a 5th grade Leadership group offered to students who are selected by teachers.  This group meets every two weeks during lunch and has been developed to enhance our 5th grade girls’ natural ability to become leaders.

Guys in Ties is a 5th grade Leadership group offered to students as well and is facilitated by our School Resource Officer that encourages the same goals for our 5th grade boys.

Kindness Crew is a 5th grade student-initiated group that meets quarterly.  This groups’ goal is to cultivate ideas and see them through to spread kindness at Batesville Intermediate School.
