Director of Food Service

Welcome to the BCSC Food Service Department! We are dedicated to serving students nutritious and delicious meals to fuel their bodies throughout the day. Nutrition has a direct impact on student learning so we make it our mission to ensure all students have access to healthy meals every day. As part of the National School Lunch Breakfast and Lunch Program, our department must meet required nutrient levels. Our Food Service Department serves an average of 1,600 lunches and 450 breakfasts per day.

At least 80% of the grains offered through our cafeterias are whole grain and we only serve low-fat milk (1%) in addition to unflavored, low-fat milk and flavored or unflavored fat-free milk.

Keeping Students Safe/Food Allergy Procedure

There are students with life-threatening peanut allergies in our schools. They may not be exposed to OR ingest ANY peanut products. This means that they may not touch or eat or smell the following: Peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil, peanut flour, or peanut protein.

Please realize that these children have a severe allergy, which could be fatal. Even during lunch, these students are at risk and are seated at designated special peanut-free tables.

We are asking you to read all food labels before sending any food to school with your child. We are also asking that you talk with your child about the importance of not sharing their personal food with these children. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. It will take a team effort to create a safe environment for those with anaphylactic peanut allergies.
