Family Literacy Nights
BPS holds a Family Literacy Night in conjunction with the annual author or illustrator visit. This gives families the chance to celebrate literacy together and it gives the parents a taste of the fun students experience at school when an author or illustrator visits.
Family Pottery Night
Pottery Night a BPS invites families and the community to join us in experiencing the art of clay on the pottery wheel. This is an event sponsored by the Rural Alliance for the Arts (RAA) along with the BPS Art Department. This is a two-night event where all are welcomed to create and glaze pottery. Look for information on the BPS website, student newsletters, and the Batesville Herald Tribune for further information.
Family Fitness Nights
When winter arrives, cold temperatures, snow and ice often make it difficult for kids to play outside after school. The limited access to the outdoors means less time running around and staying active.
Batesville Primary School helps families beat the winter blues with annual Family Fitness Nights. BPS partners with Southeastern Indiana YMCA and Margaret Mary Community Hospital to offer five nights of fun and fitness. Classes include fitness stations, Tae Kwon Do, Yoga, Zumba, and the BPS Heartmaze. Information is sent home in January.
Family Movie Night
BPS’s annual Family Movie Night is an entertaining evening for the entire family. Held in the winter, typically the month of January, this BPS PTO sponsored event gives families an inexpensive way to interact and spend time together. A newly released, family friendly movie is shown in the gym. Popcorn and bottled water, are sold at minimal prices, and at the end of the evening, a name is drawn for one lucky individual to take home the DVD.
