Robotics Club

An extracurricular started to do a few things:

•Gain more interest into the Engineering and Technology Education (ETE) program.
•Provide Project Lead the Way (PLTW) students with more learning opportunities to allow more freedom.
•Cater to the interests of students, when polled, a robotics club was the undisputed champion.
•Join the ranks of other schools that have successful robotics and ETE programs but also to set ourselves apart from others that don’t have this component.

Educational Values

Teaching robotics has many educational opportunities:

•Mechanisms
•Programming
•Physics
•Machine Control Design
•Problem Solving

Vex Robotics

Educational Design Robotics
•Allows students freedom of design.
•Allows educators to customize projects to student abilities.
•Promotes concepts of STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Vex Robotics Competition

•VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) is a competition where middle and high school students can test their abilities in the form of a competition game.
•Local Competitions (Zionsville, Warren Township).
•Winning moves on to regional competition, then to state, eventually to world competition.
•World Competition is held in Anaheim, California.
